Tagging Instructions

To tag your items you will need some supplies:

  • Child sized hangers for clothing
  • Adult sized hangers for larger sizes (sold with the items)
  • 3x5 standard index cards (no paper tags will be accepted)
  • Safety pins at least 1 inch in size (no straight pins - they can easily come loose)
  • Pen (no pencil – to avoid any chance of price alterations)
  • Packing tape for attaching tags to toys, books etc. (no scotch tape)
  • Large Ziploc-type bags (to pack shoes and groups of toys together)

Place all garments on hangers with the hook facing to the left (so it looks like a question mark). If you have a set, safety pin the set together before placing on the hanger to ensure they stay together. Keep those cute hats, booties, and pants with their partners!

Use only the full size 3x5 index cards to tag ALL items. Follow the tagging instructions completely. Items not tagged according to instructions will be returned at Check-In.

Holding your tag longways (3" across top) draw a horizontal line across the card 1/3 of the way down from the top of the card.

  • consignor number
  • size of item
  • description
  • price

Any items you wish to exclude from the Half Price Sale must also be marked with a RED X as shown on the sample tag.  Any items you don’t want donated at the end of the sale and intend to pick up at the conclusion of the sale must be marked with an  “ND” as shown on the sample tag.  These items must be picked up during the designated pick-up time listed on the Event Schedule.

Maternity Clothing only:  If you have PETITE or TALL sized maternity clothing, please indicate such in the description section of the tag (ie. PETITE black dress).  Continue to put a size (xs,s,m,l,xl) in the size section of the tag in the lower left corner.

If you make a mistake on a tag, start over.  Tags will not be accepted with corrections, cross-outs, or missing information.

Attach your card vertically to top right of each garment with a 1 inch or larger safety pin. Put the pin in above the line you drew and ALL other information below the line.

When hanging pants, be sure you pin the pants to the hanger. This will ensure they do not easily fall off. Please do not fold and slide them on. For a 2 piece set: hang the shirt on the hanger as you normally would then turn it over to the back and pin the pants on the outside of the shirt and run pin through the shirt, catching the hanger also. This allows the shopper to see the pants easily and prevents the pants from coming apart from the outfit.

For items that have matching accessories (hats, booties, etc.): Either pin the item to the hanging garment using a 1 inch or larger safety pin or place the item(s) in a Ziploc style bag and pin the bag to the hanging item.  Please take special precautions to ensure these items do not come loose from the hanger.

Toys and equipment should be securely tagged with packing tape across the top third of the tag. Do not place tape over the entire tag.

Items containing small parts may be placed in a Ziploc-type bag with the tag taped on the top third of the tag to the outside of the bag.

If your item has more than one piece (infant seat, stroller combo) attach a tag to all pieces with your consignor number and description but only write the price on the first, most visible tag.

Shoes will be limited to your 5 highest quality pairs. Shoes must be placed in a Ziploc-type bag. Tags must be taped with packing tape to OUTSIDE of the bag across the top third of the tag.

The One Week Boutique cannot sell items, or return them to you if unsold, if the tag has fallen off.

Utilize the following sizing groups:

  • Newborn (inlcude Preemies here)
  • 3-6 months
  • 6-12 months (include 9 months here)
  • 12-18 months
  • 18-24 months
  • 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T
  • 6, 6x, 7

Please price items in whole dollar increments.

If you DO NOT want your item to go into the Half Price Sale, place a RED X in the upper center of the tag (but under the horizontal line) as shown on the sample tag. The One Week Boutique will leave these items on the sales floor, but not mark them down to half price.  If they do not sell, they will be made available for your pick up at the designated time on the Event Schedule. We suggest you try to minimize items excluded from the half price sale in an attempt to make as much money as possible.

The One Week Boutique will donate all unsold items at the conclusion of the week to local charities. If you DO NOT want your unsold items to go to charity, place an ND in the upper right corner of the tag (but under the horizontal line) as shown on the sample tag.  You will be able to pick them up at a designated time on the Event Schedule.  Any items not claimed at that time will be donated. NO EXCEPTIONS.
